    THE HIT…(CHAPTER VI)

AFTER HANGING UP THE PHONE, TEFNUT SITS CURLED UP ON HER BONE COLORED SOFA, MASSAGING HER TIRED FEET, IN CONTEMPLATION OF WHO TO CONTACT FOR THE MISSION THAT LIES AHEAD.

MEANWHILE, KARIMBE IS WALKING TO THE   WITH UMOJA DISCUSSING THE AGENDA FOR THE MEETING.  AS THE CROWD MOVES SLOWLY DOWN THE HALL, KARIMBE HAPPENS TO BUMP A LATINO.

    PERDONEME, MANITO…SAYS KARIMBE

    NO PROBLEMA, HERMANO.

LITTLE DID KARIMBE KNOW THAT A BROTHER WAS CREEPING THROUGH THE CROWD.

AS THE CROWD TURNED THE CORNER, THE LATINO FELL IN STEP BEHIND JAMAR.   WHEN THEY WERE OUT OF THE C.O’S SIGHT, THE LATINO PULLED AN EIGHT INCH FLATHEAD FROM THE WAIST AND HIT JAMAR IN THE KIDNEY WHILE ANOTHER UNKNOWN BROTHER, WITH A QUICK, SHORT SLICING MOTION, CUTS JAMAR ACROSS THE FACE WITH A GEM.

THE KIDNEY SHOT MADE JAMAR’S KNEES BUCKLE.  HE WAS IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND SPILLING BLOOD BADLY.  THE TWO  ATTACKERS DISAPPEARED INTO THE CROWD.  AS JAMAR ATTEMPTS TO GET UP, THE CROWD MOVES AROUND HIM AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED.  EVERYONE KNEW THAT TO AIDE HIM WOULD CAUSE THEM THIRTY QUESTIONS.  EVENTUALLY THE C.O. SEES HIM AND CALLS FOR A STRETCHER.

YO! DID YOU HEAR WHAT HAPPENED TO JAMAR?  SOMEONE SAYS.

THIS CATCHES KARIMBE AND UMOJA’S ATTENTION.

    NO, SOMEONE ANSWERS.

YEA…TWO GUYS WHETTED HIM DOWN SO BAD YOU COULD SEE THE MUSCLES IN HIS JAW.

KARIMBE REALIZED IMMEDIATELY THAT SOMETHING ABOUT THE HIT WAS SUSPICIOUS, BECAUSE THE GAD BODY WERE SPEAKING OUT ABOUT THE RECENT DEATH.  SAYING IT WAS A MURDER AND NOT A SUICIDE AS ALLEGED.

    UMOJA!

    NDIYO, KARIMBE.

WE’RE GONNA HAVE TO MOVE FAST.

    SOMEONE WANTS THIS MATTER SILENCED.

    HAVE YOU CONTACTED YOUR PEOPLE?

NDIYO.  I SHOULD BE HEARING SOME WORD SOON.

    TU WA MOJA, KARIMBE.

    A LUTA CONTNUA, UMOJA.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE JAIL, ENVELOPES WERE BEING DROPPED IN THE ATTACKERS CELLS.

THE BITE OF LOVE (CHAPTER V)

AS KARIMBE RETURNED FROM HIS PROGRAM AT THE COMMUNITY PRE-RELEASE CENTER (C.P.C.) HE CAME TO AN IMMEDIATE HALT AND DISGUST COVERED HIS FACE AT THE SIGHT OF HIS COMPLETELY TOSSED CELL.

EVERYTHING HAD BEEN PILED ON THE BED WITH NO DISCRETION.

KARIMBE KNEW THEY WERE SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR.  HE WAS ABOUT TO STRAIGHTEN UP HIS CELL WHEN HE REMEMBERED HIS WIFE WAS AWAITING HIS CALL.LISTENING TO THE CONNECTION BEING MADE, HE BEGAN TO THINK OF THE DAY THEY MET.

IT WAS ON THE VISIT WHILE  IN A DEEP CONVERSATION WITH HIS OLD EARTH(MOTHER),  HIS CONCENTRATION WAS INTERRUPTED WHEN TEFNUT STROLLED PASS THEIR TABLE AND A WHIFF OF FLORAL SCENT GRABBED HIS ATTENTION.  HE LOOKED P TO SEE A COCOA BROWN SISTER WALKING IN ALL HER CONFIDENCE.  SHE WAS DRESSED IN AFRICAN ATTIRE, AND HER HAIR PICKED OUT INTO THE FULLEST AFRO HE HAD SEEN.

KARIMBE NOTICED THAT SHE WAS SEATED WITH NDUGU KUUMBA, WHOM HE KNEW CASUALLY FROM HIS ASSOCIATION WITH THE J.Y.M.  BUT HE COULD NOT HELP BUT NOTICE HER WHICH WAS AS BRIGHT AS THE MOON AT ITS HIGHEST ORB.

    KARIMBE…KARIMBE, BABY…ARE YOU THERE?

KARIMBE SNAPPED FROM HIS DAZE AT THE SOUND OF TEFNUT’S VOICE.

NDIYO, SWEET SOURCE OF HAPI.  I AM HERE.  U HALI GANI?

SIJAMBO, NOW THAT I KNOW YOU ARE WELL.

I BECAME VERY NERVOUS THIS MORNING WHEN HATHOR INFORMED ME OF THE DEATH THAT OCCURRED THE OTHER NIGHT.

    WAS HE ONE OF OURS?

    HAPANA.

NONETHELESS, HE WAS A STRONG AND INDEPENDENT YOUNG NDUGU WHO REFUSED TO TOLERATE THE SYSTEMS’ ACT OF REPRESSION.

UNFORTUNATELY, HIS UNFAMILIARITY WITH THE VICIOUSNESS OF THE MACHINE LED HIM TO HIS DEMISE.

TEL ME, HUSBAND, WHAT IS IT YOU WISH FOR ME TO DO ON THE FRONT END?

THE MOVEMENT HAS CALLED A MEETING IN THE MAIN YARD THIS EVENING.  OUR INTENTION IS TO DEVELOP A MORE EFFECTIVE METHOD OF REACHING THOTH.  I WILL LEARN MORE THEN, BUT IN THE MEANTIME, I’D LIKE YOU TO GATHER SUPPORT FROM THE OTHER COALITIONS.  WE ARE GOING TO NEED PUBLIC OUTCRY IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

I’LL WRITE YOU WITH FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.

    HOW’S HER-BAK?  IS HE THERE?

HER-BAK IS WELL.  HE’S HERE WAITING IMPATIENTLY TO TALK TO YOU.

    JAMBO, FATHER.

    JAMBO, CHICKPEA.

FATHER IT’S WONDERFUL TO HEAR YOUR VOICE.  AS THE MAN OF THE HOUSE, I AM WATCHING OVER MOTHER.

THAT’S VERY RESPONSIBLE OF YOU, CHICKPEA.

TEL ME, CHICKPEA, HAVE YOU DISCOVERED THE ANSWER TO MY QUESTION?

    NDIYO, FATHER.

    MAY I HEAR IT?

    CERTAINLY.

AS THE AUSAR OF A PERSON IS LED BY ANUBIS INTO THE HALL OF JUDGEMENT, HIS AB (HEART) IS WEIGHED AGAINST THE FEATHER OF MAAT ON THE SCALE OF JUSTICE.  THE AB IS EMBLEMATIC OF THE CONSCIENCE, WHILE THE FEATHER IS EMBLEMATIC OF LAW.

    VERY GOOD CHICKPEA…VERY GOOD.

    HERE’S YOUR NEXT ASSIGNMENT. READY?

NAME THE TWELVE GODS WHO SIT WITH THEIR SCEPTERS IN THE JUDGEMENT SCENE.

    FATHER.

    NDIYO?

    ARE YOU ALL RIGHT?

I AM WELL, HER-BAK.  DON’T YOU WORRY YOUR LITTLE HEAD.

TAKE CARE, CHICKPEA.  I LOVE YOU.

TAKE CARE, FATHER.  I LOVE YOU TOO.

    HERE’S MOTHER.

TU WA MOJA(WE ARE ONE), FATHER .

    TU WA MOJA, HER-BAK.

    NDIYO, TEFNUT.

I WILL BE SEEING YOU THIS WEEKEND.  UNTIL THEN, TAKE CARE.  I CARE.

    I WILL TEFNUT, I WILL.

WITH LOVE, A LUTA CONTINUA, TEFNUT.

    A LUTA CONTINUA, KARIMBE.

    THE MEETING CHAPTER IV

GENTLEMEN, CAN WE COME TO ORDER?

AS YOU ALL KNOW, THERE WAS A DEATH OVER IN B-BLOCK AND THE BUREAU OF CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION HAS TAKEN UP THE CASE.

THEY DON’T BELIEVE IT WAS A SUICIDE AT ALL, BECAUSE THE DECEASED NOT ONLY HAD HIS HANDS TIED BUT THERE WAS A PLASTIC BAG OVER HIS HEAD WHICH CAUSED ASPHYXIATION.

HOW WE GONNA COVER THIS ONE?

THOSE THREE INCOMPETENT FOOLS PUT US IN A REAL JAM.

IT’S GONNA GET WORSE WHEN THE INSPECTOR GENERAL’S OFFICE STICKS THEIR FUCKING NOSES IN ALL THIS.

THERE ARE DOCUMENTS IN THEIR OFFICE TELLING OF COMPLAINTS MADE BY THE DECEASED.

WHAT WERE THEY THINKING ABOUT?  COULDN’T THEY JUST SCARE THE LIL’ BOOGER?

DEP. BURGER…THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO.  PLACE SOME FEELERS OUT ON YOUR NETWORK TO SEE WHO’S BEING AFFECTED BY THIS.  KEEP A SHARP EYE ON THE GYM.

I THINK THEY’RE GONNA HAVE A REAL INTEREST IN THIS MATTER.

    SGT.  ASPER.

    YES…SUPERINTENDENT SETH.

I WANT YOU TO GET YOUR GOONS TO TIGHTEN THE REINS.  EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE.

ANYONE PLANNING TO TALK TO B.C.I. NEEDS TO KNOW THEY ARE DOING SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.

    YES SIR…SUPERINTENDENT SETH.

    THAT’S IT, GENTLEMEN.

    LET’S GET TO WORK.

    AH…CAPT. BUTTALL, REMAIN HERE, PLEASE.

DEP. BURGER OVER HEARD THIS AS HE WAS LEAVING.  HE OFTEN WONDERED WHY HE WAS NEVER INCLUDED WITH THE IMPORTANT LOGISTICS.  I MEAN, I AM THE DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT…HE WAS THINKING.

BURGER FAILED TO REALIZE THAT SETH NEVER TRUSTED ANYONE HE HADN’T HAND- PICKED.

BURGER WORKED HIS WAY UP THE RANKS BY FURTHERING HIS EDUCATION AND PASSING DEPARTMENTAL TESTS.  AFTER ACHIEVING HIS BACHELOR DEGREE, HE WAS PROMOTED TO BE AN ANALYST AT CENTRAL OFFICE.  LATER, WHEN THE POSITION OPENED, HE WAS APPOINTED DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT.  THAT’S BEEN SIX YEARS AGO.  HE EVEN TOOK HIS OATH.

HE REMEMBERS THAT NIGHT VERY CLEARLY.  IT WAS THE DARKEST OF NIGHT.  THE SKY WAS CLOUD FREE.  THE STARS WERE BLINKING.  IT WAS THE SECOND NIGHT INTO THE NEW MOON.

THE PICKUP WAS CRUISING AT FORTY-FIVE MPH.  AS HE WAS OBSERVING THE SCENERY, A BLINDFOLD CAME ACROSS HIS EYES, SENDING HIM INTO SUDDEN DARKNESS.  THE UNEXPECTEDNESS CAUSED HIM TO LOSE HIS BALANCE.  HE REMEMBERS RIDING FOR WHAT SEEMED AS ETERNITY. THEY CAME TO A STOP ON A DIRT ROAD HE WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE PICKUP AND LED DOWN A CURVING PATH.  AS HE WALKED, HE HEARD THE CHEER GROWING LOUDER AND LOUDER.  THE WALK WAS SLOW AND DELIBERATE.  ALL HE FELT WERE HANDS REACHING OUT AND TOUCHING HIM.  BURGER WAS BECOMING MORE AFRAID WITH EACH STEP.  HIS NOSE CRINGED AT THE SCENT OF KEROSENE.  HE WAS SWEATING PROFUSELY.  NOT ONLY BECAUSE OF HIS INCREASING FEAR BUT ALSO FROM THE SEARING HEAT OF THE CROSSES THAT BURNED ON EACH SIDE OF THE ALTER.

AS HE STOOD BESIDE SOMEONE WITH A STRONG PRESENCE THE INITIATION COMMENCED.  HE HEARD THE SPEAKER SAYING; THE HOUR OPENTH, THE HEAD OF TO THIS SEALED UP, THE PERFECT IS THE EYE OF VAL.  I HAVE DELIVERED THE EYE OF VAL WHICH SHINETH WITH SPLENDORS ON THE FOREHEAD OF RAM, THE FATHER OF THE GODS.  I AM THE SAME MESHU, DWELLING IN AMENTA.  MESHU KNOWTH HIS DAY AND THAT HE SHALL NOT LIVE THEREIN, NOR SHALL I LIVE THEREIN.  I AM APEPI AMONG THE GODS.  I SHALL NOT COME TO AN END.  STAND UP, THEREFORE, O VAL, MESHU HATH COUNTED THEE AMONG THE GAODS.

ON CUE, BURGER RESPONDED, MAY MY NAME BE GIVEN UNTO ME IN THE GREAT DOUBLE HOUSE, AND MAY I REMEMBER MY NAME IN THE HOUSE OF FIRE ON THIS NIGHT OF COUNTING THE YEARS AND OF TELLING THE NUMBER OF MONTHS.  YOU ARE THE HOLY ONE, AND I SIT ON THE EASTERN SIDE.  IF ANYONE ADVANCETH UNTO ME, FORTHWITH I PROCLAIM HIS NAME.

BURGER THOUGHT HE WAS A PART OF THE IN-CROWD NOW THAT HE’S BEEN INITIATED INTO THE LARGEST KLAVERN IN NEW YORK STATE.  NONETHELESS, HE HASN’T ACCEPT THIS SORT OF TREATMENT AND SWORE HE’D BE INCLUDED IN ALL THE FUNCTIONS AS HE STEPPED THROUGH THE DOOR.

A Night Killing ( Chapter II)

ON THE COUNT, YELLS THE C.O.

AS THE C.O. PASSES KARIMBE’S CELL HE HEARS HIM SAY,  “OH, HELL…WHAT THE FUCK”.

    HEY CHARLIE, GIT DOWN ‘ERE

    HURRY UP!

    CONTROL? COME IN CONTROL.

    CONTROL HERE.

GET AN AREA SUPERVISOR UP HER ON BAKER THREE.  GOT THAT?  BAKER THREE.

    COPY THAT.

    CRACK THIRTY-FIVE CELL.

    WE’VE GOT A POSSIBLE SUICIDE.

AH…IT STINKS LIKE HELL IN HERE.

    CHARLIE, CLEAR THE GALLERY.

    LET’S GO.

    KEEP IT MOVING.

    DRAG YOUR ASS.

    HOTEP…KARIMBE.(GREETINGS)

U HALI GANI? (HOW ARE YOU?)

    MZIMA SANA, UMOJA. (VERY WELL)

    NA WEWE? (AND YOU?)

    VIZURI, ASANTE. (FINE THANKS)

IT APPEARS THE MBWEHAS (JACKALS) WERE ON THE MOVE LAST NIGHT.

    NDIYO, UMOJA (YES)

I SAW THEM ON THE GALLERY.

KARIMBE FELT COMFORTABLE DISCUSSING THE FINER POINTS WITH UMOJA, BECAUSE HE HAS PROVEN HIMSELF WORTHY.

UMOJA MEANS ONE IN SWAHILI, AND HE WAS GIVEN THENAME BECAUSE HE WAS THE FIRST TO JOIN THE JAMMA YANGY MOVEMENT (MY FAMILY MOVEMENT) WHEN KARIMBE COMMENCED IT.

KARIMBE, WE HAVE TO GET SOME OUTSIDE AGENCIES TO TAKE AN INTEREST IN THIS SITUATION. THEY ARE KILLING ALL THE STRONG BLACK YOUTH BEHIND THESE WALLS.

    THAT NDUGU (BROTHER) DIED NEEDLESSLY.

HE DIED SIMPLY BECAUSE OF HIS STRENGTH AND INTOLERANCE TO BEING TREATED INHUMANELY.

    NDIYO, UMOJA (YOUR ARE RIGHT)

WE MUST COME UP WITH A BETTER AND MORE EFFECTIVE ACTION FOR PROTECTION.  AND OUR BEGINNING POINT IS THE ELEVATION OF THIS MASS CONSCIOUSNESS.  WE’LL HAVE TO DEVISE A METHOD OF APPROACH AT THE MEETING TONIGHT.

    HOTEP, UMOJA.

    HOTEP, KARIMBE.

The arctic blast  has finally blown down from Canada and affecting  the North-East. This morning people have,or will, be awakening to temperatures below 0 degrees with a windchill factor of minus zero. So, I think it’s imperative I re post this article reminding those affected how important it is to dress appropriately in the in-climate weather.

The head and hands are the areas where heat is loss the fastest. Try to exposing the least amount of skin to avoid frost bite.

Many of us tend to over dress when the weather becomes colder than we expect at times. The best approach to maintaining warmth in colder temperatures is to dress in layers. and it is suggested that you dress in four(4) layers.

    1. Depending on the footwear, you will want to wear a pair of warm socks. Not too thick(causing the feet to sweat), and not too thin (incapable to keep…

    What’s the “Story” ?

I am sure you are somewhat confounded by the biblical “Flood Story” each time you read it. At one point it will use “God“, while at another it will say, “Lord“. Or, male and female (6:19; 7:9, 16)when referring to the sex of the animals, as another verse uses man and his woman(7:2) as well as male and female. 6:17; 7:21, employs the term “everything expired”, and 7:22, states “everything died”.

This story differs on terminology and details. for instance, one pair of each kind of animal juxtaposed to seven pairs of clean animals and one pair of unclean animals. and we know clean means fit for sacrifice. Lions are unclean; sheep are clean. Then we have the amount of time for the flood. 370 days or 40 days and 40 nights. A raven, a dove.

Even the presentation of god differs. One verse pictures a deity who can regret things that he has done(6:6,7), which is a theological question in itself of an all-powerful, all-knowing being that would regret past actions. The portrayal of a being who “grieved to his heart”(6:6), who personally closes the ark(7:16), and smells Noah‘s sacrifice(8:21). The other portrayal is more a transcendent controller of the universe.

“The two flood stories are separable and complete. Each has its own language, its own details, and even its own conception of God. And even that is not the whole picture…” (See, Who Wrote the Bible, Richard Elliot Friedman).

If you desire to make sense of it all, I have presented  the following verses for your reading.

    • 6:5-8;
    • 7:1-5, 7, 10, 12, 16b-20, 22-23;
    • 8:2b-3a, 6, 8-12, 13b, 20-22
    • 6:9-22;
    • 7:8-9, 11, 13-16a, 21, 24;
    • 8:1-2a, 3b-5, 7, 13a, 14-19;
    • 9:1-17

I am confident once you read and comprehend a better view of what you are reading your interest will be piqued to study and explore more in order to make sense of the many puzzling things you come across while reading the Bible.

There comes a time in our life when we must confront many of the things we are taught by our ancestors who simply passed on to us what was inculcated upon them. When you understand history in its fullest and the affects it had on our past relatives. What you will probably find in your search is the medium to further transcend into the spiritual realm.

Seek and you will definitely find!

I concur that there are indeed many great lessons the bible can teach us, whether it is in belief of the classical-biblical god or not.

    A (One) Truth

“You want answers? I want the truth.. You can’t handle the truth!!!”

Yesterday a friend of mine quoted the above interaction from A Few Good Men. But it begs the question; Do people actually want the ‘truth’?

    Let’s define truth:

    Merriam-Webster:

    2

a (1) : the state of being the case : fact (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality (3) often capitalized : a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality.

Now that we have a frame of reference, let’s pose the following questions:

    1. Why do Black churches and others within Black religious traditions give allegiance to biblical faith and witness?
    2. What biblical references allude to the existence of Black Jews before Jesus Christ?

The answer to the first question is simple. “…because their own experiences seem to be depicted in the Bible. Many of the biblical stories reflect the existential reality  of the “Black Story” in an environment typically hostile to the interests  Blacks attaining their full sense of human potential.” (Cain Hope Felder, Troubling Biblical Waters). To piggy-back on Professor Felder, the Bible was the only thing given to Blacks where they could find similar struggles to theirs.

In the Bible they have found ancient symbols of their predicament: the saga of Egyptian bondage, the devastation of Assyrian invasions, the deportation into Babylonian captivity, and the bedevilment of principalities and powers of the present age. Blacks have consequently developed an “experiential sympathy” with much of the Bible, which in turn, receives their reverent attention as quite literally the revealed Word of God.

Regarding the biblical references of Black Jewish existence, we merely need to study Gen. 10, the family of Ham(Hot) and his descendants. By investigating this particular chapter you will find that many of the blemished characters in the Bible are generally connected to lineage of people of color in their blood line.

Despite the reluctance of Euro-American or Ashkenazic Jewish scholars to attribute much significance to explicit references or allusions to Blacks in the Old Testament, such mentions are instructive. There is an impressive array of Black people in the Old Testament, beginning with those in Gen.9 & 10 or 1 Chron. 1: Hagar, from Egypt(Gen.16:1); the Cushite wife of Moses in Num. 21:1; Jer. 38:7 and 39:16; Isa. 37:9; perhaps even Zephaniah, the son of Cushi(Zeph.2:12, 3:10), to name a few.

What truly  puzzles me is how many Black people attest to the oldest person on earth to be from the continent of Africa, but at the same time support the biblical depiction of Shem (Semi[tes], mixed) as being the progenitors of mankind. There seems to be a contradiction in these positions.

If we truly want the truth, then it is incumbent upon us to perform the required research into matters that will reveal the truth instead of merely accepting the indoctrination of Western academia. Even most of the clergy have performed some degree of scholarly work.

I am interested in hearing what you have to say. In the meantime,I will leave you with the words of I.M. Nur:

“...when one accepts lies as truths, this affects his or her notion of reality,
which inevitably causes incorrect conclusions to form in the mind. These
conclusions, consciously and unconsciously, affect and filter our beliefs about
the nature and order of things in creation. Such untruths necessarily shape a
people’s belief about the alternatives that they should consider when dealing

with their contemporary problems. Lies also limit the actions a people might
choose to take in response to their oppression. Also, lies have a definite
influence on the type of world an oppressed people will choose to support, as
well as the resulting relationships they will have with family, friends,
neighbors, and with their enemy. In short, the beliefs a person or a people
hold as truths directly affect all of their social interactions. Though truth
is ‘a common thing,’ the lies another people have replaced with truth now seem
just as ‘common’ to us, especially when we continue to ignore logical
    connections.”

    The Struggle Continues.

    World Aids Day

Today Is World AIDS Day. As a nation, we are all affected by the Auto Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) in some manner. Our family, friends and business associates continue the battle to fight this disease.

On this day we all should take a moment to remember those who we loved and knew in our lifetime that were affected by this disease, which,in turn, directly affected you in some way.

Yes…it is a difficult subject to be discussing because many people still haven’t gotten over the stigma of the disease. But, because if people, such as you, we can break down the walls of prejudice and bring light to a matter that concerns us all.

Aashai’s, LLC, acknowledge you and the struggles you may have encountered along the way. Aashai’s, LLC is here to morally support you and encourage you to continue the fight against this epidemic.

Aashai’s, LLC is a supporter of World AIDS Day.

    Diet Program A

I had to think about it for awhile. I needed to do some research before presenting you with some sort of diet program. So, for those of you who wish to lose some pounds and tone up those muscles to fill out your choice clothes, I will provide you with a diet program to help you along.
However, you must first desire to make the necessary changes to achieve the results you’ve always envisioned. I still will be giving you simple exercises you can do at home until you decide to step it up in the gym.
Following is day 1 of diet Program A:

    >Breakfast

    1 cup pineapple

    >Lunch
    Fajitas
    6 oz. top sirloin
    2 whole wheat Mission Carb
    Balance Tortillas (6″ diameter)
    1 cup bell pepper

Thanks Shai! and in addition to this diet; make sure to be careful with red meats. Although, they contain very high amounts of iron, B-vitamins and proteins, they are also very high in saturated fats. Moderation is key. Secondary, be sure not to ingest too much protein, as this can cause renal stress and can eventually lead to certain unfavorable health conditions. 1-2g of protein for every kg of body-weight is sufficient intake, even for the avid exerciser.

      Regards,
      JR

    Back Streets…A Novella.

For the next few months I will be sharing chapters of my novella with you. Leave your comments in the appropriate box. All are welcomed.

    BACK STREETS

    2:30 A.M.
THE GALLERY IS UNUSUALLY QUIET EXCEPT FOR A COUGH HERE AND THERE.
EARLIER IT WAS ALIVE WITH THE MANY STORIES THAT ARE TOLD EVERY NIGHT.
THE LIGHTS WERE LOW, JUST ENOUGH FOR THE OFFICER TO MAKE HIS ROUNDS WITHOUT CREATING TOO MUCH OF A SHADOW.
WHILE KARIMBE LAYS IN A PEACEFUL SLEEP ENJOYING A SCENERY FAR FROM HIS PRESENT CONDITIONS, WHERE HE’S BEEN FOR THE PAST THIRTEEN YEARS.
IT ALL BEGAN WITH THE BOTCHED ATTEMPT TO AVENGE HIS MOTHER’S KILLING. AND WHAT HE DIDN’T EXPECT TO HAPPEN HAPPENED.
AS HE WATCHED THROUGH SLITTED EYES, HARD JAWS AND IN ALL HIS HATRED, THE SAME KILLERS WALKED INTO THE WHITE MAN’S COURT TO EXACT SO-CALLED JUSTICE AGAINST HIM.
SUDDENLY, KARIMBE WAS STIRRED FROM HIS SLEEP. IT FELT AS THOUGH A BAD OMEN LEAPED INTO HIS BODY.
HE BLINKED SEVERAL TIMES TO GAIN FOCUS OF HIS DREADED SURROUNDINGS WHEN THE TAIL END OF SOMETHING WHITE CAUGHT HIS ATTENTION.
KARIMBE BECOMES INSTANTLY ALERT. HIS SENSES TRY TO KEY IN AND REASON WHAT HE JUST SEEN.
SO…HE RISES TO THE CELL BARS AND INCHES HIS EYE-SPY OUT FAR ENOUGH NOT TO ATTRACT ATTENTION. AS HIS SIGHT SETTLES ON THE THREE IMAGES, HE IS AMAZED THAT THEY ARE CREEPING DOWN THE GALLERY FULLY DRESSED IN THEIR CLAN OUTFITS.
AFTER DISAPPEARING AS SILENTLY AS THEY CAME, KARIMBE LAYS BACK TO WONDER WHO THEY TORMENTED TONIGHT.
AS HE CLOSES HIS EYES, IMAGES OF HIS FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THE CLANNISH MENTALITY RETURNED.
    NIGGER!
GET YO ASS IN THAT CAR BEFORE I REALLY SEE WHAT CHA’ MADE OF.
KARIMBE STRUGGLES WITH POLICEMEN, WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BLOOD RUNNING DOWN THE SIDE OF HIS FACE.
KARIMBE GROANS AS HE’S KICKED IN HIS RIBS, WHILE AT THE SAME TIME HE’S LOSING CIRCULATION IN HIS HANDS BECAUSE THE TWO SCUM-DOGS FAILED TO PUT THE SAFETY ON THE CUFFS, SO THEY ARE TIGHTENING WITH EVERY STRUGGLE.
AS HE IS FINALLY PUSHED INTO THE CAR AND FALLS ON HIS FACE.
THE MORNING BELL RINGS AND HE AWAKES DRENCHED IN SWEAT.
